The Senator representing Kogi East, Sen. Attai Aidoko Ali has attributed his decision to quit the APC to a burning desire to return to the house he helped build, describing the PDP as the " best political platform for the actualization of a stable democratic and united country."
Sen. Idoko who spoke at the sideline during the inauguration of the PDP National Integration Committee today in Abuja said the PDP was the only political party whose foundation and visions could accommodate national fault lines while representing in all ramifications, the interests of all the people of Nigeria.
" It was circumstances that made me leave the PDP in the first place . Those circumstances I would say have largely been laid to rest today by the efforts of President Goodluck Jonathan and the National Chairman of our party. I believe it is therefore the right time for me to come back and offer my best to the party and the nation."
Meanwhile , the former National Woman Leader of the PDP and former Minister of Woman Affairs, Iyom Josephine Anenih has described the sixteen years of PDP as fulfilling, saying that the visions of the founding fathers of the party have considerably been met.
" The founding fathers of our great party set out to build a formidable, all encompassing political party, capable of sustaining democracy and giving credible leadership to generations of Nigerians . This , the PDP has done in the last sixteen years. "
She added that though there was still a lot to be done, successive leaders of PDP in the government of the Federation and the states have been able to lay formidable infrastructural foundation and expanded the frontiers of national development .
