Otti consoles the Catholic Church over death of Father Ezeonyia

…Extols his sterling leadership qualities
The governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti has commiserated with the Vicar General, Catholic Diocese of Aba, and the entire catholic faithful in the state over the demise of His Lordship, Rt. Rev. (Dr.) Vincent Valentine Ezeonyia who passed on to glory recently.
In a letter of condolence to the Vicar General, Catholic Diocese at St. Michael’s Catholic Cathedral Aba, Otti expressed deep pain over the loss of the clergyman whose sterling qualities stood him out as a shepherd of souls, but asked the Monsignor, the immediate family of the deceased and the entire catholic Christian family in the state and beyond to take heart.
“I am deeply pained that his Lordship passed on at this critical time in our political quest as a people when some of the sterling qualities that stood him out as a shepherd of souls are absolutely needed.
“I will be most frank to affirm that the life and times of His Lordship remains a very great motivation to me as a person, both in my erstwhile banking carrier and in my present pursuit of political aspiration.
“I recall many occasions I had the privilege of interacting with him as treasured moments mostly for his clamor for good governance and transformational leadership. I note also that His Lordships’ disdain for mediocrity, impetuousness and reprehensible leadership structure was just absolute”, Otti stressed.
The APGA governorship hopeful in the letter of condolence expressed no doubt that the entire clergy and laity of the Catholic community as well as all well-meaning people of Abia State will in no mean way, miss the astuteness, intelligence and most outstanding candor of the deceased.
He therefore prayed to the good Lord not to only grant him eternal solace in His bliss but also, to “Inspire us to pursue those virtues His Lordship stood for both for the universal church and humanity at large”.
